Period 2 Next Steps

Next week we will be selecting teams for the Invasion Games Unit. Our procedure for selecting teams is like the NBA Draft.

The instuctors act like the Commissionsers of the league and have final say in league operations and will select "Franchise Owners" that are in charge of selecting teams from a list of "Free Agents". Franchise Owners are also players on the team.

When they select teams they will go away from the group and be given a draft order number. They will select in there order going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and then back down 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with 8 picking first in the second round. The draft order continues to snake until all athletes have been selected(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,1,2,3,4,5,6...).
This is done away from the group so that no external pressures are put upon the Franchise Owners.

What are the benifits to selecting like this? What are some potential problems? Should there be trades in the season? Are there any things you would like to add to this procedure?

The teams would benifit from the selection being random and there should be trades in the season so we get to work with different people in our gym class.

there is always the problem of being picked last, but nothing short of picking names out of a hat would eliminate that. If we trade people, then if someone is not to good at a sport (like myself at basketball) they could move to a group with a lower skill level.

People should be able to trade with other teams so you get to know more people and interact. The teams should be selected randomly.

I like this idea because it seems professiona, franchise people, free agents.. Like, the good players may be picked first, then so on. Instead of gruoping teams together you get to choose who is best for the team.

But if someone is picked in the last round they may feel unwanted or excluded.

I think there should be trades during the season because ti just seems more real life and exciting, being with other teams, people fighting over you.

Overall it sounds pretty righteous

The benifits are that there is no pick last like devin said and that the teams will be more fair. some problems could be that some people mite get sick of eachother and that is why we should have trades.

....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................people should be able to choose their own teams so they dont get put with some random person that they dont work well with......................................................................................

i think randomly choosing people for a team is both good and bad. if you were to put a pretty bad player the student will learn to play better. the only problem is that a really bad players put with one good player sometimes make the team lose based of knowlegde of how to play. this doesn't always happen.

if teams are chosen in this way the teams would always be more fair because it would be more random and no one would be "picked last" and feel bad. This also puts less pressure on the people picking the teams. I think that a potential problem would be that sometimes there are teams that are much better than other teams even though it is random. I do not have anything to add to this procedure.

If we do it like this, it is random and fair. We get to work with other people and get better. Even though it is random, one team might be better than the other. There should be trades because, people might want better people. I have nothing to add to the procedure.

I think this way to pick teams is ok and trading is fine as long as it's not confusing and if it doesn't take long.

I like this way because nobody gets picked last. However the only problem is if people are at different skill levels it makes it harder to play together ans should be switched to a different team

I think working with friends would be betther

I think that making teams this way will prevent people from feeling bad about being picked last. It is also more random. Franchise owners also do not have as much pressure to pick their friends. If we traded people, some people would feel bad about themselves if they got traded so it is a bad idea. i have not contributions to this process.

Where is the lists?

i think its okay but you shouldn't be allowed to trade, that takes advantage of the players and gives franchise owners too much control, but the drafting process is good

the team picking is fine if there r gonna be trades

i think that it would be better if it was random.

I think that the idea of picking teams at random is very good because it is fair. and i do think we should have trades next season

I liked how the teams were picked. The "franchise owners" weren't under pressure to pick certain people, and the players who were picked later didn't feel bad about it. I think there should be trades in the season so that we can see who we play well with.
