Period 2 Post #3 Team and Roles

The teams have been selected! Please take a moment and look at your teams!
Team positions. A basketball team has five players that play five different postions.

1. A "1" is the point guard. This person is the best dribbler and passer. This person brings the ball down the court and has the best chance of maintaining possesion of the ball if pressure is put on.

2. A "2" is the shooting guard. This person has the best shot on the team. You want this person to shoot the ball for you the most.

3. A "3" is the small forward. This person is a pretty good at shooting and rebounding. They will cut through the lane and be a threat.

4. A "4" is the power forward. This person is a great rebounder and will spend most of the time with their back to the basket, or playing in the post. They will take close shots and look to rebound every ball.

5. A "5" is the center. This person is usually the tallest person on the team and specializes in shot blocking and rebounding. On offense, they are like the power forward and play close to the basket.

Please look at your team and assign the players on your team a role or position as described. Put the number next to their name from 1-5 and put yourself last with whichever number you think you will fit into and why.

Kyle Murdock 2
Michale castelli 5
Angela Yang 1
Tai Lin Wu 4

me- Julianna Bond 1, probablly because I really can't shoot all that well... or rather...at all... and I'm short too. Plus I'm more used to passing to other people anyway.

I like the teams i think that this unit will be fun.

I think this way is better than the middle school way of picking teams and games

me-eray-3, I would play this position because I'm more the layup person than shooting from far away

The way that your team is rewarded for winning is a lot of fun. Also, randomly screaming whenever you hear your team name is fun too.

I would probably be number 3 because i am neither tall nor terrifically good at shooting. But i am good at defense...if that counts for anything...

Are we going to be allowed to trade?

I like p.e. class. this basketball unit is really cool, and i like my team. And even though i don't really know what i'm doing on the court, it's still good fun.

I play PF-4 becuase I'm better at rebounding and also good at lay-up which has to do more inside the court.

me- Joe Kobylski 1, because i can handle the ball and pass better than anything else in basketball.

1-David Na
2-Joseph Shi or John Luc
3-Anna
4-Sam or Sonam

I would be five because I'm one of the tallest on my team and can block some shots well.

I am a 1 or 2 because I am pretty ok at handling the ball, passing and shooting.

I think I should be a 5, because I can rebound and shoot fairly well from close range and I'm not very short.

I think Kyle Murdock should be 1 because he dribbles pretty good and he can see who is open.

Tai Lin should be 2 because he really knows how to get the open shot, and he can do all these crazy moves that make the ball somehow end up in the basket.

I think Julianna should should be a 3 because I saw her shoot, and she is pretty accurate, and she is very calm, and doesn't take unneccessary shots.

Robert Chen should be a 4 because when he shoots he has great backspin and he can fight for the rebound.

Angela Yang should be 1 also because I think she can handle the ball well and not throw the ball to the other team when under pressure.

i don't usaully play basketball great, but with teams i should get better. though most of the time when play open i am completely yet my teammates don't pass it to me. i don't blame them though not when i don't know how to play well.

adding to bree

uhh every position stated is right

however me and david na have a "mixed" role.

we can both play 1, but we both grab
the most rebounds every game and drive down the middle scoring layups, so we play a 1 and 4? may sound weird but thats how it works.

If anyone here plays CBC can u gimme details in gym?

Also adding to what eray said, me federico and april switch on and off. So I can switch to 5, Federico can be 1, and April 4, depending on who is sitting out.

I believe I will be best at being a small foreward because I am not a very good dribbler and I can shoot the ball and pass to the shooting guard often.
