Below are the five Health Related Components of Fitness. Our fitness testing at the beginning of the semester tested our abilities in each of these catagories.
Read through the components and pick out the one that you feel you need to focus on this semester.
In your blog I want to know three things:
1. What component are you going to focus on?
2. Why did you choose that component?
3. What are you going to do to improve in that component?
Cardiovascular Fitness: The ability of the circulatory system (heart and blood vessels) to supply oxygen to working muscles during exercise.
Body Composition: The relative percentage of body fat compared to lean body mass (muscle, bone, water, etc)
Flexibility: The range of movement possible at various joints.
Muscular strength: The amount of force that can be produced by a single contraction of a muscle
Muscular endurance: The ability of a muscle group to continue muscle movement over a length of time.

1.Muscular Endurance
2.I feel that this is an important component and if I improve this it will help me in sports and get me stronger.
3.I'm going to be active everyday, and workout doing exercises until failure to help improve.
The category I am going to focus on this semester is Flexibility, the range of movement possible at various joints. I am choosing this component because this semester it looks like flexibility is getting in the way of good form in my lifts. When I say this, the first thing I think about is my squat, where about 3/4s of the way down, it seems my hammys lock and my back goes into flexion. So I think more lower-body flexibility will do me some good. To improve in that component, inside the weightroom I'm going to lower the weight and focus more on parallel before increasing weight again, and outside the weight room,I'm going to continue my lower-body development during Outdoor Track.

I need to focus on flexibility, since I am so tall its harder for me to squat and deadlift with good form. This is a problem and I plan on improving by reducing the weight when squating and deadlifting so I could go lower and do it correctly. I also plan to stretch during my own time.

I need to focus on the first 2, cardio vascular and body composition.
I picked these because these are my worst categories and if i am going to try and play at a higher level i need to improve both of these.
I will improve them by eating better then i do now, running everyday, and focusing more on my problem areas during my outside workouts.
