Period 5 Blog #4 Health Related Fitness Components

Below are the five Health Related Components of Fitness. Our fitness testing at the beginning of the semester tested our abilities in each of these catagories.

Read through the components and pick out the one that you feel you need to focus on this semester.

In your blog I want to know three things:
1. What component are you going to focus on?
2. Why did you choose that component?
3. What are you going to do to improve in that component?

Cardiovascular Fitness: The ability of the circulatory system (heart and blood vessels) to supply oxygen to working muscles during exercise.
Body Composition: The relative percentage of body fat compared to lean body mass (muscle, bone, water,etc)
Flexibility: The range of movement possible at various joints.
Muscular strength: The amount of force that can be produced by a single contraction of a muscle
Muscular endurance: The ability of a muscle group to continue muscle movement over a length of time.

2. I've noticed that I am easily tired when I constantly excercise

I would choose muscular endurance because whenever I am running, I get tired quite easily and tend to stop to catch my breath. If I focus on improving my muscular endurance, my legs will have more muscle to continue muscle movement over a length of time and I would stop less often.

1. What component are you going to focus on? Flexibility
2. Why did you choose that component? Something that will also help me get more fit so I dont end up breaking any bones too easily or end up in pain too easily when bending something
3. What are you going to do to improve in that component? Stretching and other excercises that will help improve flexibility

1.I am going to focus on flexibility and my cardiovascular fitness
2.The reason i chose to work on these was that i can apply it to my everyday life since i do swimming(cardiovascular) and diving(flexibility).
3.I will try to do my best at everthing we do and always do the stretches to improve my flexibility and improve my cardiovascular fitness.

The component I will work on will be Muscular Endurance. I chose this component because it will give me faster movements, and quicker reflexes. It will also allow me to run longer. I will do squats, push ups and stretches

I want to focus on my flexibilty. I did not do as well as I thought I would have on the sit and reach. I will stretch more often when I get the time to become more flexible.

I feel that I should work on cardiovascular fitness the most because when I run I get tired very quickly and likewise with other cardiovascular exercises. I will work to improve this my running, bicycling and overall getting out more.

1. I am going to focus on cardiovascular fitness.
2. It helps it easier to keep on running in sports like soccer or hockey.
3. We should run and also do pacers and other activities to improve endurance.

I would work on flexibility because i need to be very flexible to be a catcher in baseball. I will try to stretch more to become more flexible.

2. I want to be able to do sports for a long time without a large decline in muscular performance.

I think I should work on Muscular strength because It's hard to push-up , crunch etc. so I think I need more muscles. I will exercise with dumbbells and do muscular exercise more often
