Period 7 Weight Training Blog #6 Rest

We talked last blog about the importance of proper post workout nutrition and stated it was one of three important factors in your training program. Rest and recovery is the third factor important to a sound fitness program. For this weeks blog, I want you to define the term CORTISOL and explain it's effects on the body and how we can help rid ourselves of it.

Cortisol is a corticosteroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland (in the Zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex). It is often referred to as the "stress hormone" as it is involved in response to stress. It increases blood pressure and blood sugar, and reduces immune responses. In pharmacology, the synthetic form of cortisol is referred to as hydrocortisone, and is used to treat allergies and inflammation, and to supplement natural cortisol when its production is too low.
you can take medications to regulate it, or you can eat right, be stress free, and keep your body healthy.

Cortisol is an important hormone in the body, secreted by the adrenal glands. It involves immune function, insulin release for blood sugar maintanence, regulation of blood pressure, and proper glucose metabolism. In order to get rid of it is to exercise frequently, have a good nutrition, and rest.

Its a hormone thats released wen your stressed, it makes you easily pissed off a think, but wikipedia's definition is kinda hard to understand. Anyways to prevent it you gotta get some sleep, and eat your broccoli.

To rid our body's of cortisol, you must eat healthy, stay active, and try to avoid stress. Also, medication is available to rid your body of cortisol.

cortisol is involved in response to stress and is known as a stress hormone. it increases blood pressure and blood sugar and reduces immune responses. it helps to restore homeostasis after stress and protects us during danger giving us energy to fight or run but prevents proliferation of T- cells and lowers bone formation. it also makes us store fat in our internal organs leading to high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes. the only way to decrease the chances of this happening is healthy diet and exercise

Cortisol is a corticosteroid hormone produced by your adrenal system, and its also known as stress hormone. It increases your blood pressure, weakens your immune system for a time, and raises blood sugar.

Proper rest and recovery after a (moderate) work-out, a proper diet, and possibly, if your body produces way too much, certain medicines.

Cortisol is a corticosteroid hormone that increases blood pressure and blood sugar, and reduces immune responses. As it is related to stress, getting rest between workouts as well as a good nights rest, cortisol levels can be regulated and kept at a satisfying status. Also, by allowing muscles to regenerate, cortisol levels could be regulated.

Cortisol is a steroid hormone which is released from our adrenal gland in response to stress (or in the morning, preparing us for the day). The purpose of Cortisol is to dull pain when we are in a stressful situation, which may need action. Excess of Cortisol can lead to chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease, so your body needs a way of getting rid of extra. The way you can get rid of extra cortisol is by exercising, staying away from stressful situations, and sleeping (which is the least stressful situation you can be in).
