Period 2 Principles of P.E. Skill Related Fitness Wrap Up

We have completed our skill related fitness testing. For your blog this week, I want you to let me know what two skills were your best skills. Then I want you to think back to all of the activities we have done in class or even activities that you do on your own time that utilize the skills you listed. List one activity you participated in either in class or on your own and tell me how it relates to your two best skills. The goal is for you to be able to match physical activities to your skill set so that the activities will be more enjoyable and you will be more likely to participate in them.

Have a great holiday!

The alt. hand wall throw and the 20m dash were probably my best skills. An activity such as basketball relates to the 2 skills because you need to be able to dribble well and run fast to avoid the chance of having the opponent be able to get the ball from you.

My two best skill-related fitness areas are speed and agility. Speed will help me when I run track, because I can go faster. Agility will help me in soccer so I can turn and move quicker.

I guess i'm okay at balance and coordination just because im bad at everything else. Sports I can use these skills in could be badminton because if you swing you don't want to fall flat on your face!!! (so this relates to balancing kind of.) and coordination because you have to hit the birdie with the racket so you don't swing and miss and look stupid. yeah.

My scores show my good coordination as i got 32 and 31 bounces for the wall toss. volleyball has improved my hand eye coordination because it is necessary to be able to track with your eyes and bump, set, or spike the ball to be successful at the sport. in addition i did good in the vertical leap category because of jumping needed for a good spike in volleyball. volleyball is a fun sport because i have the skills to play well.

My best skills are the vertical jump and the shuttle run. In volleyball, there is spiking which probably helped me with my vertical jump. Then, in soccer and basketball, we had to run back and forth which improved my shuttle time.

The best skills I had for the fitness testing were the 20 m dash and the alt. hand wall throw. The 20 mdash can help me with basketball because I can sprint down and back on the court. THe hand wall throw helps me with my corrdination. It helps me catch balls that are thrown to me.

My best two skills were agility and speed. Badminton utilizes both of these because you need to move around very fast in many directions in order to hit the birdie.

i thought reaction ruler drop and the wall throw were my good points

also i would need quick reactions so i could be able to play tennis, if it comes to my left side i'd move my racket to the left to get ready for a backhand and if it is on my right, id move my racquet to the right for a forehand

I think that my agility and my power have helped me in the activities that we have played in gym. In badminton I had to use a little bit of both when trying to hit the shuttlecock. I had to use agility to track it down and power to jump and hit it down when it was high. In volleyball, power was used when trying to spike the ball. And in basketball, agility was used to guard the offense and power to grab the rebounds.

My 20 meter run thing was my best and my second best was probably my shuttle run. they are both running activities so i could apply both to track and field sports the best.

My two best skills were the Alt. Hand Wall Throw and the vertical Leap. The Alt. Hand Wall Throw can help me when i play baseball with my friends. The Vertical Leap will help in volleyball for blocking, even though im still not tall enough to get over the net.

My two best skill related fitness areas are the vertical leap and the 20m dash. Power will help me jump higher when I am playing volleyball, f.e. For speed, it helps me by running faster and being enduring, like in soccer.

I did well in ruler drop since I got 5 inch in left hand and 7 inch in the right. Also I was good at 20 meter dash where I got 3.75 s. Using my good reaction time and speed I can prove my best skill at baseball. When defensing, I can quickly find out where the ball is heading when it is batted and run toward is speedily. When offensing, I can quickly respond to pitcher's throw and hit the ball and run to the bases fastly.

My two best skill-related fitness areas are power (vertical leap) and speed. Speed will help me in track to go faster and power will help me in basketball to jump and shoot the ball.

My 2 best skills were agility and coordination. Playing badminton in class relates to agility because i had to be able to move quickly to get to the birdie. Badminton also relates to coordination because i needed good hand-eye coordination to actually hit the birdie w/ my racket

My best skills are power (vertical leap) and speed (20 m). Speed will help me in track to run faster, and power will give me better starts out of the blocks

The alternate hand wall through and the 20 yard dash were my largest strengths. this helps me with the sport badminton because i have quick reaction time with the racket and i am able to navigate across the court quickly

I am best at power (vertical leap)and balance (standing stork test). As a skater improving in these skills will help me in many ways. If I have better balance, I can have a more centered spin and won't fall when I land my jumps. If I have better power i can jump higher thus increasing my rotations in the air.

My two best skill-related fitness areas are coordination and speed. In volleyball you need both because you have to be quick to the ball and you have to be coordinated to get the ball over the net.

I think that my cordination and my power have helped me in the activities that we have played in gym. One of those is badminton because you need cordination to hit the shuttlecock and with power you can spike the shuttlecock to an area faster. Another activity that uses my two best skills is basketball because you need power to jump high and you need cordination to have your feet in the right place when jumping and have your hands cordinated enough to get it to a certain part of the backboard so that you can score.

My two best skills are agility and coordination. When I play volleyball, I need the agility to quickly move around the court, or get up after I have fallen. I need coordination in order to aim the ball at my target.

My two best skills are reaction time and coordination. I was very good at the ruler drop, demonstrating good reaction time, and I am also very good at the alternating wall toss, demonstrating good coordination.
This could relate to many of the activities we have done in class this year. During the floor hockey unit, I need both of the skills. Reaction time is very important when playing goalie, which I did, because you need to be able to quickly block the puck. Also in hockey coordination is necessary to be able to hit the puck well in the best way possible.

my best skill related fitness were the ruler drop(reflex) and the 20m dash. though i don't play football with all the really good people i've noticed that speed was very important with speed you can quickly get to the goal with out getting caught. but when you shirnk the sport down to somthing like ping pong reflex is really important because in a small area the ball can come to you fast but you only have a short amount of time to think and hit the ball to the other side.

My two strengths in skill-related fitness are power(vertical leap) and speed. I need power(vertical leap) in basketball so i can be able to dunk the ball with the help of my calf muscle. I need speed in basketball so i can outrun the other defenders that are guarding me.

my best 2 skills are agility and speed. both are necessary in volleyball because volleyball requires a player to get to a place fast, even if it means changing direction in a split second

The alt hand wall throw and the shuttle run were the things that I was best at. These are both used in badminton, coordination to hit the shuttlecock and agility to be able run to hit it.

My best skills are balance and reaction time. I need balance for horseback riding to keep me on the horse even when the horse is walking and especially when I jump. I don't exactly use reaction for a sport, but I do use it whenever I play ERS (Egyptian Ratscrew). You wouldn't believe how much you need speed and quick reactions to win!

My two best skills were the 20 meter dash and the balance thingy. Im pretty fast and want to run track in the spring. Also I've always had a pretty good sense of balance and will need that while in racing someone so I dont fall.
